Select Files

The Select Files window is where you choose what you want to back up from your inserted memory card(s). For most workflows, you’ll simply select the entire card, but you can also choose specific files if needed.

  • Each file contains a timestamp, image name, file extension, and an associated file extension icon.
  • Use the Filter button if you are viewing more than one card at a time.
  • If a camera shoots both an image and a RAW file, they will appear as one line item, with both the Image tag The Images settings icon and the RAW tagThe RAWs settings icon.
  • Video files display a video tag The Video settings icon. This includes any audio recorded in the camera as part of the video clip.
  • Audio files display an audio tag The Audio settings icon. These are separate audio-only recordings.

Check the "Show Thumbnails" box on the bottom-left of the window to view thumbnails of each image in the file list.

  • You may need to resize the window when viewing thumbnails, since thumbnails require more space.

In most cases, you should not change the Job Date. The only time you typically need to adjust it is if the date in your camera was set incorrectly.

ProCapture Backup supports multiple sources at once, allowing you to load several sources into a single job. Sources can include memory cards, folders on your computer, folders on external drives, or other connected devices such as USB storage.

Keep in mind that your hardware limits may affect performance. If you load too many sources at once, your card readers, USB bandwidth, or drive connection speed may not be able to handle the workload efficiently.

In the Select Files window, your sources are listed above the image preview area on the right. If the same source name appears more than once, ProCapture Backup adds a number next to it (1, 2, 3, and so on) to help you tell them apart.
