Running Two Separate ProSelect Accounts on One Computer
Licensing Reminder: Each studio must have its own ProSelect license. Even when used on the same computer, running ProSelect under different user accounts for different studios still requires a separate purchased license per studio. See Licensing for more information.
Why Separate User Accounts Are Required
ProSelect stores all user-specific data—such as price lists, templates, room images, and other custom settings within the operating system's user account. If you switch between two ProSelect licenses while using the same macOS or Windows user account, the second license will overwrite the first's data.
To keep your studios completely separate, you must create a new user account on your computer for each studio. This ensures that all data, settings, and licensing information remain isolated and intact.
To create a new user account on a Mac:
- Open the Apple menu () and select System Settings.
- Click Users & Groups in the sidebar.
- Click the Add User button (+).
- Choose Standard as the account type.
- Name the account (e.g., Timeless) and enter a password.
- Click Create User to finish.
Once complete, log into the new user account when working on that studio’s ProSelect setup. Switch back to your original user account for the other studio work.
Note: The new user account will have its own ProSelect environment, including settings, templates, pricing, and more.
To add a new user account in Windows 11 or 10:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
- Under Other users, click Add account.
- Enter the email address or phone number for the new Microsoft account, or follow the prompts to create one.
- Complete the setup and sign out.
- Have the new user sign in from the lock screen.
This new Windows user account will now have an independent ProSelect setup.
