I have a PC now but will be buying a Mac (or visa versa)

A ProSelect software license (and registration key) is the same for both the Mac and Windows versions of the software, so once you have transferred your ProSelect Data to your new computer (see below), all you need to do is:

  1. Download and install the relevant ProSelect version (Mac/Windows) for your license
  2. De-activate ProSelect on your old computer (under the Help Menu in ProSelect). *
  3. Open ProSelect and enter your current registration key (or use the quick "Download from TProStudiosoftware.com" option)

* Deactivation is only required for v2011r1 and newer versions and if you have used all your available activations for your license (or if not using the older computer any more).  If using ProSelect v2010r1 or older, then uninstall the software on the old computer (unless still wishing to use it within the scope of your license).

Notes:
- Make sure all installed copies are the same version for data compatibility reasons.
- If you have a ProSelect software license for an older version than the current one, then choose "ProSelect (Old Versions)" for under Downloads menu on Prostudiosoftware.com or Upgrade!

Important:
Due to changes in the newer operating systems Mac OSX, Windows (and Photoshop), we have had to make changes to ProSelect to allow it to work with these new versions. As such you may need to upgrade to the newest ProSelect software to avoid functionality issues. You can review your discounted cost on the new price and purchase by logging in under the email address you have your ProSelect license details under and choosing "Upgrade to ProSelect version".

Transferring your ProSelect Data

We have an article which will also assist with "Transferring or Backing up your Prices and Templates" and copying your Prices, Templates and Resources Data over if not using the Shared data options ("Sharing Data between computers" may also be of interest if not).

Differences Between Mac & Windows Versions

There is also a helpful article with a list of the small differences between the Mac and Windows versions.
