What's New in ProSelect 2024

Updated User Interface

This version features a redesigned user interface with updated icons, descriptive buttons, a sleeker design, and menu changes for increased usability and clearer terminology.  ProSelect now supports both light and dark modes, automatically matching your operating system settings, or allowing you to manually select your preferred mode. Enjoy a more intuitive and visually appealing experience with these enhancements.

Wall Groupings - Reinvented

Creating, populating, showing, modifying, and selling wall groupings has never been this quick and efficient.  The Product Editor simplifies the creation process, while the Pricing and Product Manager allows stacking, so wall collections can be offered in multiple sizes and configurations.  Images are no longer locked in position, allowing you to drag any item to move it.  Collections can include mixed product types, including gallery wraps, and can have different frame and mat combinations on each image. Once your wall grouping is created, ordering everything takes just two clicks.

No Automatic Duplicates

We have improved the image handling process to ensure no automatic duplicates are created when images are added to rooms or modified from other uses.  This change eliminates confusion during preview reviews in Working with Images by preventing multiple copies from appearing.  However, you can still create duplicates manually whenever needed, giving you control over your image management.

New - Stacked Templates 

Our Stacked Templates feature allows you to load and populate multiple products simultaneously, making it perfect for offering products in various sizes and aspect ratios.  This is especially beneficial for wall groupings, which can include small, medium, and large sizes.  With stacked templates, you can easily transition between different sizes, such as from a large (24x30) to a medium (20x24), even when the aspect ratios differ.  Create stunning wall groupings with multiple images effortlessly using this versatile and efficient tool.

New - Library Room Collection

Explore our new collection of beautiful rooms, featuring a variety of styles including contemporary, traditional, and urban.  These stylish rooms enhance your presentations and for subscribers, can be exported with image designs for use on websites and promotional materials.  Elevate your visual marketing with these stunning new options.

Gallery Wraps

Gallery Wraps, also known as canvas wraps, are now fully supported. These products feature images that wrap around the edges of the canvas, with the edge depth determined by supplier information. The edges can be customized with a solid color, a color selected from the image, a mirrored image, a stretch blur, or a full image wrap. The image with the applied edge will be produced in Pro Production, saving you editing time and additional lab fees.

You can quickly view different sizes in Actual Size View or Room View, and Gallery Wraps can also be used in Wall Groupings.

New - Color Picker 

The Select Mat/Edge Color tool  allows you to customize the color of your applied Virtual Style or Gallery Wrap Edge.   Drag the selector over your image to select the desired color for the mat or edge.

Redesigned Product Editor (Previously the Template Editor)

Introducing the new Product Editor, designed to make your creation process more intuitive and efficient. We've expanded template types from two to eight, simplifying the creation process like never before. Opening and design sizes are now seamlessly linked to paper sizes, ensuring perfect compatibility. Link to suppliers and connect effortlessly to custom or supplier production profiles. The enhanced product preview offers a clear and detailed look at your creations, all within an updated user interface that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. Experience the next level of product editing with these powerful new features.

New - Product & Pricing Manager (Previously Price List Setup)

Discover the new and improved Product & Pricing Manager, featuring a redesigned user interface for a seamless experience. Organize your items effortlessly with categories and folders, including a dedicated folder structure for prints. Easily manage your available products with checkboxes to turn products on and off. Explore new pricing methods and take advantage of the ability to import and export spreadsheet data for streamlined updates. This powerful tool is designed to simplify and enhance your product management process.

Working with Products (Previously Working with Layouts)

Product Color Coding

Products are divided into different categories based on type.  Color coding is used to differentiate between different product types.  A colored box will appear next to the product when viewing it in the Product & Pricing Manager, the Template Resource Area, and when in the Working with Modes.  It will also appear when the product is ordered and in Pro-Production.

New - Pre-Framed Prints

Experience the convenience of Pre-Framed Prints, where prints are configured with a presentation option (print finish) and a frame already applied.  The prices are automatically calculated by combining the print pricing and frame pricing, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free process.  Enjoy beautifully finished products with ease and precision.

New - Reference Products

Reference Products display billable items in an appealing format on customer invoices. While these products are not typically produced within ProSelect, they are used to effectively showcase chargeable items. For example, an image box is a type of Reference Product.

Reference Products can also illustrate items like albums, album covers, USB drives, image boxes, and more on any invoice with a price. You can add an album image to personalize the shown product, though this image is excluded from Pro Production. Additionally, up to six lines of production information can be added to enhance the product description.

Virtual Styles (Previously Virtual Mats)

Enhance your prints with Virtual Styles, which reduce the image area while maintaining the same paper size, allowing for popular gallery-style borders.  Once applied, these Virtual Styles can be recolored using the color picker, giving you complete control over the final look of your product.  Pricing has been eliminated from Virtual Styles.

New - Book Page Manager

Introducing the Book Page Manager, your new hub for book and album templates.  This tool maintains separation from print product templates, allowing for easier organization and use.  Directly linked to the new Product Editor, the Book Page Manager provides increased functionality, including the ability to stack templates with matching openings.  This feature gives you access to multiple layout options by populating just one set of images, streamlining your book and album creation process like never before.

Redesigned Ordering System

Experience a quicker and easier way to order products with our redesigned ordering system.  Most products, or even a collection of products, can now be ordered in just two clicks, eliminating the need to open the Place Order window in most cases.  The new, simplified review orders screen allows for quick and clear order modifications as needed, streamlining the entire process for a better client experience.

Print Paper Sizes

Managing Print Paper Sizes, the foundation for all ProSelect products, has become easier with the introduction of custom folders, sorting options, and an updated user dialog.  These enhancements streamline the organization and management of your print paper sizes, ensuring a more efficient workflow.

Production Profiles

Pro Production now supports custom profiles at the individual product level, based on supplier or product type.  If a specific lab requests output images at 240 ppi instead of the default 300 ppi, a production profile can be set to meet those specifications.  For layouts you always want produced in PSD format, you can assign a profile at the template level.  Custom profiles allow you to adjust sub-folder names, resolution, file type, naming, and custom size mapping, providing flexibility and precision for your production needs.

Black and White and Special Tone Image Improvements

Enhance your images with improved Black and White and Special Tone effects that now match the output through Pro Production.  These refined effects offer better quality and consistency.  For those who prefer using Photoshop actions, you can link your action to the ProSelect Image Effect and adjust the preview image to match the output action, eliminating the need to run the action on the ProSelect preview images.  Simply tap the B or S shortcut keys or access the effects through the Image Effects Tool for quick and seamless application.

Expanded Right-Click Options

Experience increased efficiency with our new expanded right-click options in ProSelect.  Moving through the software and applying options to products has become much faster. You can now quickly apply sizing, presentation options, image effects, and access pricing or Pro Production without moving across the screen to a tool or menu.  This enhancement makes your client presentations more fluid and your production work faster.  Right-click options provide quick access to various functions and actions related to the selected item, streamlining your workflow and saving you time.
