Image Filenames incorrect when exported to StudioPlus

When orders are exported to StudioPlus, the image names appear in StudioPlus as "Print_1.jpg", "Print_2.jpg" etc instead of the original image filename that was ordered. This is due to StudioPlus incorrectly reading the data in the XML file when importing the order data file.

StudioPlus uses the XML export format which was originally designed by TimeExposure for the export of orders to Successware. StudioPlus decided to adopt this format to use for importing orders from ProSelect.  In ProSelect 2010r1 this format file was renamed the "Standard XML" because a number of different Studio Management systems also use the same file to import order data from ProSelect.

The exported file contains both the original filename for every image ordered as well as the name of a small sample image file (which is exported separately).

The name and location of the original image is included in the tag <Original_Image> tag. This is the one that StudioPlus should be using.

The other tag <Ordered_Image> contains the name of the sample image file. Because it is possible to order the same image with different effects, croppings etc, the sample images are simply named "Print_1.jpg", "Print_2.jpg" etc to make sure that they have unique file names. This is the name that StudioPlus is incorrectly using.

We advised StudioPlus of this in 2008 and provided suggestions on what they should do to the change the way their import process works to correct this problem. Hopefully they will do this one day!

If you are using ProSelect and StudioPlus, feel free to encourage them in this direction as well!
