Using Production to output Hi-Res Images

ProSelect's Production system works in conjunction with Photoshop (see this article for which versions) to produce final hi-res images ready to print or send to the lab. The production system is an optional add-on to ProSelect and is only fully active when you have purchased or upgraded to the "Pro" version of ProSelect.

Producing Prints and Layouts

Until ordered, all print and layouts sizes in ProSelect are scalable to any size. To get your images and layouts into production you need to use the shopping cart system to order the prints and layouts at the final size that you want to produce them.

Once an order has been placed for an item, you will find it listed in the Production Dialog (select Produce Hi-Res Images... under the Production menu). Prints from print orders and traditional matted layouts will be shown under the Single Image Prints tab. Composite layouts will be shown under the Composite Prints tab. See the ProSelect Reference manual (under the Help menu) for more details on using production.

Producing Books

When you start a book, the book design that you have selected (you should do this first) controls the size of the pages in your book. Therefore you do not use the shopping cart system for books. Rather use the Send Book to Production... command under the Production menu. You can select to send All Pages (best) or Selected Pages Only. Note: If you have inserted or removed any pages, or swap the position of any pages then use the All Pages method because the page positions have changed.

See the ProSelect Reference manual (under the Help menu) for more details on using production to produce books.
