ProSelect on Snow Leopard (Mac OSX 10.6)

Last Updated: Nov 24, 2009

ProSelect Version 4.1.x is available on the ProSelect Downloads page which includes the workaround to the problem with ProSelect only printing the first page on printed reports etc under Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6) as discussed below.

All ProSelect v4 license holders receive this ProSelect software update for free as part of your Upgrade, Support & Educational Program (SUPPORTPlus), and this version will NOT expire (unlike the Beta testing versions).

Note:  We suggest you backup your Prices & Templates data prior to updating (and anytime really!). See the ProSelect Reference Manual on how to do this (quick access under the Help menu in ProSelect).

Version 4.1 is almost complete but still a few small things to be fixed. Anyone with the printing problem is welcome to download and use the beta version (details now removed as offiicially released - see above).

We have located and found a workaround to the problem with ProSelect only printing the first page on printed reports under Snow Leopard. This fix has been incorporated into ProSelect version 4.1 which we expect will be released September or October.

Original Post Sept 4, 2009

We have received a few reports of printing issues when running ProSelect under Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6). One case reported that only the first page was printing and another was that color prints were coming out in B&W.

Apple made extensive changes to the way printing works in Snow Leopard, so odd problems like this are not totally unexpected. We are investigating the possible causes, but do not know at this stage whether this is a bug in Snow Leopard, a problem with printer drivers not working correctly under Snow Leopard or something we can correct from within ProSelect.

While we are committed to supporting ProSelect under Snow Leopard on the Mac, solutions to these sort of problems may take some time to resolve especially if the fix is something we have to wait for others to correct. In the meantime, we recommend that you don't upgrade any ProSelect critical computers to Snow Leopard yet.
