Placing cropped images into a Template
If you have cropped an image in ProSelect and then drop it into a layout, ProSelect will attempt to fit the image with a similar cropping into the template's opening. This may not be exactly the same if the shape of the opening does not match the image's cropped shape.

Remember you can always adjust the cropping of the image within a layout by switching to Cropping View (the scissors) and using the Crop in or Crop Out buttons and/or by clicking and dragging the image within the opening.

A few points:
  1. When dropping images cropped in "Working with Images"into a layout, ProSelect will attempt to match the cropping with the template's opening. If it can't, then it will revert to a default cropping. Assuming that you are cropping the images exactly square then they should stay the same when dropped into a square opening in a layout.

  2. Currently you can only "Crop In" an image in a template to 200% of original size. While there is no limit for the size when "working with images."

If your images are cropped tigher than this, then that will be the reason that they are changing.

  3. It is certainly recommended that you add your original high-res images to ProSelect. Since ProSelect automatically creates the low-res copies to work with in the album, you are not saving any space by doing this but actually using more by having your low res copies laying around when they are not required.

See the Reference Manual page "Layouts - Cropping View" for more information.
