Importing very large Collections causes ProSelect to crash

We have received reports that some very large third party template collections can cause ProSelect to crash when they are loaded. This may be because of the following reasons:

Very large Collection file

The collection file format currently used was not designed to handle very large file sizes and may require a large amount of free memory on order to work correctly.

We recommend that Collections be limited to less than 600MB in size and split into multiple parts if larger than this. (Note: this figure is based on not having received any problem reports using Collections of this size but may still be too large).

Including very large .png files inside a collection

The collection designer has included one or more very large .png file in the Collection. We have found image files of around 30"x40" at 300dpi can cause a problem so we recommend that do don't include any images larger than 20"x30" at 300dpi (6000x9000 pixels).

UPDATED July 2013: To overcome this problem, we improved the way ProSelect loads and converts .png files in ProSelect 2012r2.3 and newer so that it is no longer dependent on the amount of free memory in your computer. So, if your licence is for 2012r2 or newer,  you should download and install this version (or newer, according to your license).
