Selecting which images sizes can be shown at actual size

If you have a projector or large screen monitor, ProSelect can display prints and multi-image layouts at actual sizes (in Select Size view).

The sizes that can be displayed are those that you setup in the Print Paper Sizes (under Orders menu). When first installed, ProSelect includes default sizes such as 4x6, 5x7, 6x9, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x24, 30x36. You can add or remove sizes from this list.

Hints:
Remember to calibrate your screen by opening the Preferences (Display tab), move that dialog box to the screen you wish to display the images on at actual size and enter the measured length of the line shown (see the ProSelect Reference Manual for more details).

When in Select Size view, the actual size currently displayed is shown at the bottom of the screen.

If you are having trouble getting the 'actual size' projection to default to 100% size, then:

  1. In the Preferences, use Select Size Display (Display Tab) to set which of your sizes ProSelect should use when it first displays an image or layout at actual size. This can be set to the smallest, middle size or largest size.

  2. When working with Images, this will be the size that is shown when you first go into Select Size view. If you have this set to the largest size and the largest print size that you have setup in the Print Paper sizes is too big to fit on your screen at actual size, ProSelect will scale the image back until it just fits and will display "Scaled to fit" at the bottom of the screen. The actual size values will also be displayed.

  3. When working with Layouts, the process is similar except ProSelect will first display each layout at either the smallest, middle size or largest size. If you change the display size on a particular layout (using the "Larger Size" or Smaller Size" buttons), then the last set size for that layout will be remembered so if you display that layout again at actual size, it will still be at the size at which you last left it.

  4. The size that Layouts are displayed at is also effected by whether you are viewing a "Traditional Matted Template" or a "Composite" template.  This should be set to the one you want. See the ProSelect Reference Manual (under the Help menu in ProSelect) pages titled "Select Size View" in the "Layouts- View Modes" section for more details on Multi-Print versus Composite sizing. And/or the article How Layouts are Sized.

  5. See this article "Projecting at actual size" for more if the large or no images are displaying at actual size.
