Combine different sets of templates from two different computers, is possible but the process can get a bit messy. This article explains how to do this however, you should be aiming to get everything you need onto one "master" computer then use one of ProSelect's Sharing options to synch your setup data between multiple computers.
Transferring Selected Templates Between Computers
In the instructions below Computer #1 is your master computer (the one you will adding the extra templates to) and Computer #2 is the machine that you are copying the extra templates from.
On Computer #1:
- Backup your Data in case you mess this up and need to get back to where you were. See Backing up & Retrieving your Price Lists and Templates data
On Computer #2:
- Arrange the templates that you wish to copy into a new template category with one or more template groups using the Template Manager.
- Use Export Collection (under Resources Menu -> Collection Tools) the select the new category and all the groups that you wish to export. (Note: Only ProSelect Pro has this option available).
- Click Export button and choose the export location (eg your desktop folder)
- Copy the exported Collection file (.tpk) to Computer #1.
On Computer #1:
- Use Import Collection (under Resources Menu) to select the Collection file and import the templates. They will import into a new template category with the same name as the exported file.
- Use the Template Manager to re-arrange your template so you have everything setup the way you want on this machine.
- Make another backup when you are happy with everything.
Use one of the Sharing options to replace everything on Computer #2 with everything on Computer #1.
