Registration details keep disappearing on Network Server

If you are using ProSelect v4 and your business name and registration key details keep disappearing from your ProSelect Network Server, then you may wish to check the following.

The registration details for the ProSelect Network Server are kept in the file ProSelectDataServerPrefs.xml  in the ProSelect Network data folder location (see under the section "ProSelect Network Server Data Folder Location" of this article for where to find this folder).

After entering the registration data into the ProSelect Network Server software, close it and check that this file exists in the data folder.  If it does, then that suggests that something else is deleting it.  If it does not, then check that the user account that you are logged into when running the server has Admin privileges.

 

Note:

If using ProSelect version 2010r1 or newer (on Mac or Windows), the ProSelect Network Server does not hold your registration details any more. Each installed copy of ProSelect  must be registered and this is easily done by using the on-line registration system available in these newer versions.

In this case, make sure you are using the newest release of the ProSelect Network Server and select the relevant software version you are using in the "ProSelect Version" settings box.

Also note that if using an older version of the ProSelect Network Server than the current version, please download and install the newest release.
